Just a shells throw from the white sandy beach, clean lines and sun-filtering surfaces suit this Middletown get-away. How close? So close that our sub-contractors and staff would arrive at dawn, in wetsuits, to catch the early morning summer waves. Feng shui came to mind as we built this work of art. Feng shui, the Chinese system of geometry, literally translates to rewind and water. It is believed to use the laws of both Heaven and Earth to improve life. The architect took advantage of blending stone, metals, plastics, woods and steel to achieve balance in the architecture of this truly inspiring project. The balance is almost tangible and was an exceptional experience.

An ocean view site in Little Compton deserved a home to match its spectacular location – and we delivered with handcrafted detail in a contemporary design. A third floor turret offers views from every angle and a floating staircase adds drama and eye appeal. Luxurious touches such as tray ceilings, a custom wine bar, and custom doors and cabinetry in every room, even the master closet, make this home a castle that caters to its owner’s desire. Outdoors doesn’t disappoint either, with amazing stonework, a fireplace, patio and pool.

Previously this spectacular Sakonnet River-view site was home to a small, crumbling 1940s-era cottage. We cleared the site and built this relaxed and cozy country home to take advantage of the views from every room and provide the space the new homeowners wanted to vacation and entertain. The main floor features an open floor plan, chef’s kitchen and a two-sided fireplace. Stone patios offer a place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors, and 4 bedrooms/4 baths means there’s plenty of space for overnight guests. Finishing touches such as solid mahogany doors and railings, custom cabinetry, window seats and tile designs make for a one-of-a-kind home while the latest energy saving features ensure green living.

This 1950s era Westport Harbor home was in need of a complete remodeling. Though it was very dated, its architecture provided great bones. We toured similar homes on Nantucket Island that the client liked and set about turning this ranch into a modern Nantucket beach cottage. Adding the porch with shingled columns gave the home a welcoming demeanor while replacing the roof and shingles with the latest shore-savvy building techniques ensured both longevity and beauty.

Inside, we moved walls to create a large master suite on the second floor and opened up the downstairs with French patio doors and a porch on the west side for relaxing sunset views. We completely rebuilt the kitchen, including custom cabinetry, to create a chef’s dream of a kitchen with increased storage and optimal workflow.

When Summer beckons, Life moves outdoors. This was the theme echoed by a long-time customer who had the desire to add recreational space to their property. The exact scope of work was unclear at the onset, but the final pictures tell the story. An old friend used to say “It is the stuff you see in a magazine.” This project, which took two years to complete, features a pool house with approximately 70 linear feet of sliding glass wall. The 75 lap pool reflects the clean, contemporary style of the pool house while capturing the rich country setting. A tiled, open patio, outdoor kitchen, and see-through fireplace lead the way to a casual retreat from the heat. The interior boasts a full custom kitchen, bath, and studio for the Owner’s artwork hobby. A combination of custom cedar fencing and stainless steel fabricated fencing afford privacy without impeding the soothing water views.

Entertaining, for a busy couple, was the focus of this patio and outdoor fireplace addition. The bump out sunroom addition of a wall of windows and tile floor with radiant heat, showcases the beautiful western view of the Sakonnet River. It invites one to step out to the bluestone patio, where we have built a grilling area and outdoor fireplace. The picturesque fireplace is situated as such that it does not detract from the views and waterfront surroundings. Regardless of season, entertaining where we have brought the best of both worlds is as endless as the colors of the sunsets.
