This 1950s era Westport Harbor home was in need of a complete remodeling. Though it was very dated, its architecture provided great bones. We toured similar homes on Nantucket Island that the client liked and set about turning this ranch into a modern Nantucket beach cottage. Adding the porch with shingled columns gave the home a welcoming demeanor while replacing the roof and shingles with the latest shore-savvy building techniques ensured both longevity and beauty.

Inside, we moved walls to create a large master suite on the second floor and opened up the downstairs with French patio doors and a porch on the west side for relaxing sunset views. We completely rebuilt the kitchen, including custom cabinetry, to create a chef’s dream of a kitchen with increased storage and optimal workflow.
